Private party DJs, sound and lighting

Throw the party people cancel plans for.

DJs, MCs, lighting and sound for the nights that only happen once. The sweet sixteen, the 50th, the anniversary, the graduation, the backyard pool party. Every generation on one dance floor, and you actually get to enjoy it. (Yes, grandma too.)

A packed apartment pool party in Raleigh: guests on floats, a ball in the air, someone mid cannonball

(2) The two parties One of them is a choice

Which party are you throwing?

Every song mixed live, every generation on the floor, and a host who actually gets to enjoy it.

The one you've been to

A bluetooth speaker on a picnic table

Teens in one corner, grandparents in the other

You, running it with a mental clipboard

Guests slipping out early

The one you're throwing

Every song mixed live

Every generation on one floor

You, a guest at your own party

A floor that holds to the last song

Three ways the music empties the floor.

Somebody you love has a big night coming, and somehow you became the person making it happen. You’ve pictured the good version. You’ve also pictured the other one. It usually has one thing in common: someone decided the music was the place to save money.

(3) What you're actually afraid of All of it avoidable

The playlist with a person standing near it

Watch any dance floor while a four minute song plays to the end. People drift off after about two and a half minutes, and the DJ waits for the song to finish instead of mixing into the next. The room goes quiet, everyone remembers they have a drink and a phone, and he has to fill the floor all over again. All night. That is not DJing.

The DJ who only plays to the loud table

He finds the one corner that’s into it and plays to them all night. The teenagers get their songs or the grandparents get theirs, and everybody else checks the time. Getting a room that spans fifteen to eighty up on one floor is the actual skill. It is the whole job.

The DJ who made your party his show

He has bits. He has a voice he does. His logo is on the booth, and the guest of honor somehow ends up as the punchline of a mic moment nobody asked for. Your guests came for the person you’re celebrating, not his material.

The question every parent asks us first

“Will the music stay clean?”

Every track, all night, without you asking. Clean edits play by default. The host approves the playlist in advance, parent or guest of honor, your call, so the songs you never want played stay off the list.

You get to enjoy the party instead of standing near the booth listening for lyrics. Clubhouse or HOA asking for paperwork? A certificate of insurance is included, and they almost always want one.

Here's the truth

Nobody books us hoping for “fine.” You’re looking for a real DJ. Someone who can actually mix, get three generations up at once, run the big moments cleanly, and keep the night feeling like a party instead of a program.

You want a DJ who understands:

  • No cheesy line dances.
  • No outdated playlists.
  • No cringe commentary.
  • No dead air while a guy scrolls his laptop.

Just a packed floor, the guest of honor glowing in the middle of it, and you actually at your own party.

You should know exactly who’s behind the booth

The hardest part of hiring a DJ is that you can’t tell a pro from a guy with a laptop and a price list. So here’s ours, by name.

(4) Who you're actually hiring A small, trained roster

Mobile DJ Direct is a small Raleigh collective of pro DJs. Hand picked, trained to one standard, and matched to your party. Not an agency that sends whoever’s free. Every DJ on the roster is trained in Justin’s exact method: same mixing style, same MC discipline, same lighting control, same timeline.

That method came out of weddings and nightclubs across the Southeast, Florida to Virginia, since 2012. Yours has done this hundreds of times, so you don’t have to have done it once.

Every party gets its own plan and its own price, in writing. Nothing is held back for a sales call.

You’ll remember your DJ. Just not for the reasons you’re worried about.

The moments, handled. The entrance, the toast, the cake, the surprise. Cued perfectly, announced warmly, never hijacked. The guest of honor gets lifted up, not embarrassed.

On the mic for what needs one. Warm, brief, guest of honor first. Plus the announcement that food is ready. No bits, no jokes, no commentary between songs.

Names, written out phonetically. Every name that gets announced is captured in planning the way it’s actually said. Then read, not guessed, in front of everyone you know.

Your party in the photos. Not our logo. The setup is solid white, down to the laptop cover. No logo on the booth, no name on the laptop, nothing of ours in a single picture.

A pool party isn’t a 50th.

A two hour pool party and a four hour 50th anniversary are two different nights. Different crowd, different music, different setup. Tell us about yours and we’ll build it right, then send your price straight to your email.

(8) FAQ Every one answered
Can you really get the teens and the grandparents dancing?

That’s the job description. Reading a mixed room is the difference between a DJ and a playlist, and we rank our own success by how fast grandma gets up.

It’s not a wedding. Is a real DJ worth it?

This night happens once. The 50th doesn’t get a second try, and the sweet sixteen doesn’t get a sequel. It’s exactly the night not to hand to a laptop.

Is this in budget?

Tell us the party, the headcount and the layout. We send pricing built for your kind of party, every number in writing. A pool deck isn’t a ballroom, and it isn’t priced like one.

Pool deck or backyard. Can you set up outside?

Love them. Water and electricity just need a plan: shade or cover over the gear, a grounded outlet within 50 feet (we bring the cabling), ten feet from the water’s edge, and a rain plan confirmed 48 hours out. One setup covers one area, so tell us your layout.

I’m planning this fast. Can you make it easy?

Yes. One planning questionnaire, a simple timeline, and then it’s off your plate. Short notice dates are often doable. Ask.

Do you travel outside Raleigh?

All of North Carolina. Up to 90 driving miles from Raleigh, travel is included. From 90 to 180 miles it’s a flat $200, and past 180 miles a flat $300. No math by the mile.

This night happens once. Let’s get it right.

Tell us the date, even if it’s soon. Pool party, sweet sixteen, graduation, anniversary. If it’s outdoors, tell us the layout too, so the price fits the party instead of a guess.
